THINGS TO NOTE
Ceremony

The ceremony is outdoors at the top of Mount Mansfield:

The ceremony site is only accessible via Gondola – the ride is approximately 8 minutes
-
Please arrive to the Gondola by 4:00PM
-
The gondola that will take you to the top is accessible by taking a short ride on the Over Easy Gondola, across the road and parking lot. This gondola is located clearly between the hotel and the lodge.

The last Gondola for guests will be at 4:35PM followed by the wedding party
-
Once at the top, enjoy a glass of champagne, the incredible vistas and fall foliage as you wait for the wedding party to arrive

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00PM and last for approximately 20 minutes

Following the ceremony guest will return down the mountain via Gondola for an outdoor/indoor cocktail hour and indoor reception

Contingency Plan

If the forecast is questionable, a decision to move the ceremony indoors will be made by Saturday at 2:00PM
-
The contingency ceremony site is the room under the Spruce Camp Lodge. If this is necessary the location will be clearly identifiable.

Attire
-
Attire is formal, but not black tie
-
Footwear at the top of the mountain should not be an issue
-
The path to the ceremony site is a short walk (50 feet) from the gondola
-
Grates and stairs will be carpeted and there is a gravel path to benches

It will likely be cooler at the top of the mountain
-
Plan accordingly with jackets and scarfs

Blankets will be available so that guests can get cozy during the ceremony

HOW WE MET
We met at a Mexican Fiesta among mutual friends in Boston - our connection was instant. The following 6 months consisted of weekend trips back and forth between New York and Boston and many hours on the phone. It wasn't long before Greg packed up and moved to NYC.
In October of 2017, we were traveling in Chile and Greg popped the question on the remote island of Rapa Nui, aka Easter Island. We enjoyed the next two weeks hiking in Patagonia and exploring Santiago as an engaged couple! Recently, we have done the second most adult thing by purchasing a home in South Burlington, Vermont (Ashley's hometown) and look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter and good health. (Please do not make a sign of this, I beg you.)

8:00 - 10:00PM Welcome Party at The Matterhorn
We will be hosting a welcome party at the Matterhorn on the Mountain Road in Stowe on Friday for all guests who are able to attend. Join us from 8pm-10pm for snacks, drinks and merriment!

* The wedding ceremony and reception are adults only.
* Weather in Vermont in October, at the top of a mountain can be unpredictable - pack options and layers! Rest assured that the cocktail party and reception will be indoor/outdoor with heat lamps if necessary.

WHERE TO STAY
There are several great lodging options in Stowe, however, our wedding date coincides with peak autumn foliage season and lodging in Stowe will be in high demand. If you anticipate needing lodging, we highly recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure access to the best rooms and rates.
We have blocked a limited number of rooms at the beautiful Stowe Mountain Resort. This hotel is co-located near the wedding venue and is walking distance from all of the wedding day festivities.

If you decide to go this route, make sure to check the distance from the wedding venue (use Stowe Mountain Resort as your destination).
